Account Executive, Sales (Maternity Leave Contract)

Scope of the Position
The International Centre is looking for a motivated, client focused sales professional to join us in the role of Account Executive. We are seeking a team oriented, energetic, well-organized individual who can step up to the plate in this new role!
In this role you must be able to qualify incoming sales inquiries; conduct site inspections, sales presentations and prepare proposals for potential new clients.
Must be able to successfully prepare and issue license agreements and follow up on executed license agreements and deposits.
Source and secure appropriate space requirements for shows and events in EBMS (scheduling software system) for current and future years.
Input and maintain CRM database for all assigned shows and events.
Source and expand account base and generate new business in the trade, consumer show and special events market.
Participate in weekly sales meetings by discussing new business potentials in addition to any issues pertaining to current clients.
Participate in weekly suppliers meetings.
Acquire in-depth knowledge concerning the International Centre facilities, space, services and suppliers.
Maintain current knowledge about industry trends and competitive facilities.
Will liaise with key operating departments including, but not restricted to, culinary, client services, service providers (décor, audio visual, etc.)
Detail oriented and strong ability to accommodate and adjust to tight time lines
This position is not limited to the duties listed in this job description. Duties and responsibilities can be changed or expanded by senior management.
Candidates must have excellent communication, verbal, and articulation skills and understand and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, and other instructions.
Candidates must be willing to attend trade shows and corporate & social events; therefore weekend and evening work will be required occasionally.
Qualifications
2-4 year’s relevant sales experience is a must
Knowledge of industry (consumer and trade show) is a definite asset
Candidates should have excellent proficiency with Microsoft desktop applications and effective time management skills
Experience with event based software application an asset
Requires independent thinking and candidates should possess proven analytic skills.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, leadership, communication, team building and problem solving skills are required.
